A soft, gentle scent, but a lot of it in this super-size incense stick.
Shiv incense is warm, earthy, and deeply sensual, with a long-burning presence that lingers in the air. Amber brings a rich, golden warmth with its resinous, slightly sweet, and smoky notes, creating a cozy, inviting base. Patchouli adds an earthy depth, with its woodsy, slightly spicy aroma grounding the composition. Musk introduces a soft warmth, enhancing the sensuality of the blend. A touch of rose, delicate and refined, provides a subtle floral sweetness that lifts the richness, adding a soft contrast to the deeper, more intense notes. You won’t know the rose is there but it softens everything beautifully.
Ingredients: halmaddi, jigat (natural wood base), essential and absolute oils of amber, patchouli, musk and a tiny touch of rose.
Each box contains 4 luxury incense sticks, price £12.
50 loose sticks bulk option comes unboxed and packed in a plain paper sleeve. 50 sticks of Shiv bulk price £120. Regular price £150.

Fabulous colour, vibrant and very fragrant unlit. But again I’m just not a fan of these thicker sticks as they are hard to light and get going, produce a lot of smoke when lit and are poor in comparison to other options in the range 🙁

The dominant note is a sweetness like treacle pudding and custard. It’s very warm and sweet and comforting. It is a complex scent though, with lots of other notes, including a trace of bright orange fruitiness, amber, and a dark woody muskiness. A hint of rose is mentioned on the box, but it’s very subtle. Despite its size, the stick is gentle and not overpowering, though it does give off a fair bit of smoke. It makes a lovely sweet companion without ever overstaying its welcome. Very nice quality incense with a lovely warm sweetness full of complexity and charm.

The reason why I have only given 3 stars to this bumper incense (all my other reviews gain 5) is because it is so mild that even after an hour of burning, I have had trouble awarding a specific character to it. Very high quality, certainly. But for me, indistinct. There is the initial sweet high note, but I couldn’t focus on anything much underneath that. It burned for 1.5 hours, so not as long as I expected, and after all that time, left very little residue in my room except for a mild smell of honey dust. So sorry to say this! Its partner, Shakti, on the other hand, left a heavenly after-aroma for hours to come. Shiv is probably best suited for those who prefer just a mild hint of incense.
